Job training program
Mitrais accepts students annually from the Institute of Technology Bandung
(ITB) and the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) for two months
on-the-job software engineering training during the regular semester breaks
in December and July.
Study excursions
Mitrais also welcomes study excursions in which a Mitrais project manager
shares extensive knowledge with students. The program usually takes place
every three months.
Comparative study
Since 2002 Mitrais has also hosted comparative study programs involving
participants from the International Training Course on Information
Technology Education Methodology (ITC) in cooperation with the Japan
International Cooperation Agency (JICA), a Japanese government technical
cooperation agency and the Electronic Engineering Polytechnic Institute of
Surabaya (EEPIS). The participants of these training courses come from
different countries in Asia and Africa.
Indonesian vocational school program
In addition to its support of Indonesian education, Mitrais accepts students
for on-the-job IT training from vocational schools or IT institutes in Bali.
Participants from Lembaga Pendidikan Bali Asia (LPBA) and Sekolah Tinggi
Ilmu Komputer (STIKOM) are normally hired for two months.
Minescape, an integrated software solution for open cut and underground
mining operations for both coal and mineral deposits, has been at the
foundation of a number of co-operative programs with leading Indonesian
universities specialising in mining and geology.
Minescape is developed by Mincom and sold by Mitrais in Indonesia.
The software has been installed pro-bono at three universities: Institute
of Technology Bandung (ITB), Padjadjaran University (UNPAD) and Pembangunan
Nasional University (UPN Veteran) in Yogyakarta.
It is also being installed at Mulawarman University and Sriwijaya
University (UNSRI)
Minescape consists of a number of modules including: Minescape Core,
Stratmodel, Open Cut Planning, Haulage Road, Geological Database,
Underground Ground, Schedule, Drill and Blast, Block Model and Survey.
In 2000, ITB and Mitrais signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to
provide students from the Faculty of Earth Science and Mineral Technology
with skills in computer-generated geological modelling and mine planning.
The students undergo hands-on training in general Minescape, Stratmodel and
Quality, Reserve Calculation and Open Cut Planning. The program began in
2000.
A MOU was signed in 2004 with UNPAD to provide students from the Geology
Department, in the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty with mine-ready
skills in computer-generated geological modelling and reserve calculation.
The students undergo hands-on training in General Minescape, stratigraphy
modelling and reserve computation. This program began in 2005.
At UPN Veteran, the Minescape software was installed in 2001.
Minescape clients in Indonesia number more than 80 organisations,
including mining companies, contractors and service companies.
